5.4. Temperature regulator of cooling liquid (thermostat)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

If the engine heats up after passing by the car of a small piece of a way, then it can be caused by the fact that the radiator zashlakovyvatsya by limy deposits.


With increase in warming up of the engine the thermostat opens a big contour of circulation of cooling liquid. If the thermostat of cooling liquid is closed because of malfunction, the engine becomes too hot. It can be determined by indication of temperature of cooling liquid which is in the red range while at the same time the radiator remains cold. But the faulty thermostat even after cooling of cooling liquid can remain further opened. It is visible on the fact that the engine does not reach the working temperature any more, or the arrow of indication of temperature of cooling liquid moves more slowly up, than before, or the power spent for heating decreases in the winter.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the regulator of a termostatirovaniye of cooling liquid.
2. Measure thermostat height, write down the size "a".
3. Slowly heat the thermostat on a water bath. At the same time it should not adjoin to vessel walls, and is completely shipped in water. Control temperature the suitable thermometer. At a temperature about 87 °C the bimetallic plate of the regulator begins to be extended, reaching the maximum lengthening at a temperature about 102 °C. As soon as water of a bath reaches opening temperature, the regulating thermostat gate has to begin to open.
4. Heat water in a bath to its boiling. Take the thermostat, measure height (size "b") and compare to the first measured size (size "a"). At the end of opening height of rise of opening makes about 8 mm. As this temperature is not reached, check whether the regulator to the compared size opened, otherwise replace it.
5. In conclusion check whether the regulator completely is again closed when cooling, otherwise replace the regulator.
6. At the wrong functioning replace the thermostat.
7. Install the thermostat into place.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a weight(s) wire from the accumulator.
Prevention

At the same time the anticreeping code of radio is erased.


2. Merge cooling liquid in a suitable vessel.
3. Remove a forward plastic cover.
4. Remove both hoses of cooling liquid from a thermostat cover, previously unclench collars and shift them back.
5. Turn off bolts from a thermostat cover.
6. Uncover the thermostat together with the thermostat.
Prevention

It is impossible to separate the thermostat from a cover, otherwise it will be damaged and will not be able to be repeatedly installed.


7. Check the thermostat.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Spread a cover together with the thermostat and a new sealing ring and screw up it with m 10 N.' moment. In advance clear sealing surfaces on the case and a cover.
2. Spread a hose for production of air and a hose for cooling liquid and record them clips.
3. Fill in cooling liquid.
4. Leave to get warm the engine before turning on of the fan. Check whether there is below a radiator warm and whether the thermostat case is tight.
5. Attach a weight wire to the accumulator. Expose time on hours. Set an anticreeping code of radio.

FEATURES OF THE 6-CYLINDER ENGINE

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Unscrew a cover of the thermostat and put it aside together with the connected hose. Extend the thermostat.
2. Insert the thermostat with a new sealing ring into the case.
Prevention

When filling cooling liquid from the cooling system air via the ball valve on the thermostat is removed. Therefore insert the thermostat so that the ball valve was in the highest point.


3. Spread a cover and screw up it with m 10 N.' moment.

Removal


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a weight wire from the rechargeable battery.
Prevention

At the same time the anticreeping code of radio is erased.


2. Merge cooling liquid in a pure reception vessel.
3. Remove an air hose, for this purpose weaken its collars.
4. Unscrew a thermostat cover on the pump of system of liquid cooling and lay with the connected hose aside.
5. Take the thermostat.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Insert into a cover the thermostat with a new sealing ring. At the same time the edge on a cover enters gearing in a flute of the regulator of cooling liquid.
2. Spread a cover with the regulator and hardly screw up with the moment 10 N. of m.
3. Fill in cooling liquid.
4. Leave the engine to get warm until the fan turns on. Check whether the radiator gets warm below and whether the thermostat case is tight. Attach a weight wire to the plug of the rechargeable battery.
5. Attach a weight wire to the plug of the rechargeable battery.
6. Expose time on hours.
7. Enter an anticreeping code of radio.
