The rechargeable battery is on the right side under a trunk floor.
Prevention
Some serially installed automobile radio receivers have coding. Anticreeping coding interferes with incompetent commissioning of the device if the system of electroproviding is interrupted. The system of electroproviding, for example, is interrupted at a detachment of wires from plugs of the rechargeable battery, at removal of the radio receiver or if the radio receiver safety lock fused. If the radio receiver is coded, before a detachment of wires from plugs of the rechargeable battery record a radio code. If the code is unknown, then only the auto repair shop of Mercedes can put into operation the automobile radio receiver again.

Removal
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. It is impossible to insert the ignition key. |
2. Disconnect wires from plugs of the rechargeable battery, at first the wire (3) connecting a pole of the rechargeable battery (–) with the car case, then a positive wire (4) (+), for this purpose cast away a protective cover (6) up. |
3. Remove from the rechargeable battery the pipeline (5) for removal of the emitted gases. |
4. Unscrew and get bolts (1) to a fixing plate (2) on the basis of the rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery on 100 A-h has only one bolt. |
5. Take the rechargeable battery.
Prevention
Rechargeable batteries contain harmful substances which should not get to household garbage. Upon purchase of the new rechargeable battery old return to the seller or hand over on points of warehousing of special waste.

Installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
1. Before installation clear to gloss of a pole of the rechargeable battery, the brush from a brass wire for this purpose approaches. For prevention of corrosion cover both poles with antiacid lubricant. |
2. Install the rechargeable battery, get it on a fixing plate and hardly screw. |
3. Pull over the rechargeable battery the pipeline for removal of the emitted gases. |
4. Attach to plugs a positive wire to a positive pole (+), then negative (case) a wire to a negative pole.
Prevention
Connect wires to the rechargeable battery only at the switched-off ignition, otherwise the actuation device of system of injection of fuel can be damaged. Because of the wrong connection of the battery there can be considerable damages to the generator and electric system.
Pay attention to perfect connections with the case of the car and pure contacts. High transitional resistance of contacts brings, especially at start-up, to an overload of electronic actuation devices and can become in an extreme case the reason of their failure.

5. Close a protective cover on a positive pole and record it. |
6. Determine time on hours. |
7. Enter an anticreeping code for radio (see subsection 14.1.16.). |
