Support of a forward wheel

Support of a back wheel


1. Mark with paint the provision of wheels concerning a nave. Thanks to it the balanced wheel after removal can be put on the place that balancing was not broken. Release wheel bolts, without lifting the car, then put the car on supports and remove wheels.
2. Switch off ignition. Unscrew and get the sensor of speed of the ABS (L6/1) system.
3. Unscrew 2 bolts of fastening of a brake support of a back wheel (35) to the case of bearings of a wheel and remove it outside.
4. Suspend a support by means of a self-made hook to a body so that were not overwound and the brake hose and a wire of the sensor of wear of brake slips were not drawn.
5. If the support has to be removed completely, unscrew at first a brake hose (51) from a hydrowire, applying for this purpose an open double cap key of 9х11 mm. Then unscrew a brake hose from a support.

Brake fluid will begin to flow. Close immediately openings caps that the tank did not become empty. After installation the brake system needs to be pumped over. In cars with the ASR traction control system pumping of brakes requires the special device used in specialized workshops. Collect the following brake fluid in specially intended capacity. Observe indications for the treatment of brake fluid (see subsection 12.10.).

6. Disconnect the sensor of wear of slips on the support socket. Unscrew the socket from a support.


1. When replacing keep in mind: the brake mechanism on both wheels of one axis has to have identical pistons of the same manufacturer.
2. Forward brakes: put a support and tighten it to a nave two new самоконтрящимися bolts with m 115 N.' moment.

If bolts go hard, clear a carving of the remains of fixing means by means of a tap of M 12х1,5.

3. Back brakes: put a support and fix two new самоконтрящимися by bolts on a nave with m 50 N.' moment, in cars with the ASR system – 70 N. m.

If bolts go hard, clear a carving of the remains of fixing means by means of a tap of M 10.

4. If the brake hose was removed, screw it with m 15 N.' moment on a hydrowire. At installation the hose cannot be overwound. On an arm (52) the lock plate (60) with a dodecahedron is fixed. Insert a brake hose (51) into a lock plate so that it went freely at full turn of a wheel to the left and to the right, at compression and stretching of a spring of a suspension bracket. 4 – a hydrowire, 13 – the cap screw, 59 – an arm of a brake hose.
5. Grease an opening for the ABS system speed sensor with means of Molykote Longtherm 2. Check a ring of round section, if necessary – replace. Put the speed sensor, having tightened it a new bolt with an internal hexagon with m 20 N.' moment,
6. Connect a wire of the sensor of wear of slips to the socket on a support.
7. If the brake system opened, pump over brakes.
8. Put wheels so that the marking put before their removal coincided. Screw wheels. Remove the car from supports and tighten wheel bolts in a crosswise order with m 110 N.' moment.

Vigorously repeatedly press on a brake pedal, you will not feel strong resistance yet. Thanks to it there is an adjustment of brake slips.

9. Check the level of brake fluid in a tank, if necessary add to the maximum mark.

Carry out safety control:
      – whether brake hoses are tightened;
      – whether there is a brake hose in an arm;
      – whether pumping screws are tightened;
      – whether as it should be level of brake fluid

  At the working engine make tightness control. For this purpose press a brake pedal with effort from 200 to 300 N (20–30 kg) within about 10 seconds. The pedal should not move. Check tightness of all connections.

10. In conclusion make several braking on the quiet street.
