2.8. Towage of the car

GENERAL INFORMATION

The forward towing eye is behind a cover on the right on the buffer. Open a cover fingers advance. At installation of a towing bar for a rigid hitch enter its hook into the middle of the car (in the direction of an arrow) to provide sufficient maneuverability.

The back towing eye is located under the buffer on the right.

Rules of towage

Include ignition not to block a wheel of steering and it was possible to put a sound signal and screen wipers in action.

Install the transmission in neutral situation, at cars with the automatic transmission install the lever of its management in situation "N".

Turn on emergency and light alarm systems at the pulling and towed car.

As the amplifier of the brake drive and the steering mechanism with the amplifier functions only at the working engine, in the idle car it is necessary to press a pedal of a brake and a wheel of steering respectively stronger!

We recommend to apply a towing bar to a rigid hitch as there is a big danger of arrival at application of a flexible towing cable. This cable has to be elastic to preserve from collision among themselves the towed and pulling cars. Apply only cables from artificial fiber or cables with elastic intermediate links.

Features of towage of the cars equipped with the automatic transmission

Maximum speed towage: 50km/hour! Maximum distance of towage: 50 km!

On long distances raise behind the car by means of the car for towage of faulty vehicles or you load completely on it.

It is possible to tow the faulty car without gearbox oil only with the raised driving wheels.

Features of towage of the cars equipped with the automatic blocked differential (ASD) or system of regulation of slipping of driving wheels of rather basic surface (ASR)

At cars with ASD or with ASR it is impossible to install the ignition key in situation II (ignition is included) if towage is carried out with the raised forward bridge.

Towage of the car (emergency start-off from the place)

Prevention

Towage (for the purpose of launch of the engine) by means of the car which is in the movement is impossible at the cars equipped with the automatic transmission. Cars with the catalyst can be towed only at the cold engine and when carrying out test, otherwise there is a danger of damage of the catalyst.
